Children’s Day (Bal Diwas) (14-11-08)
Bal Diwas was celebrated in the Vidyalaya on 14-11-08 under the guidance of the Principal. A fancy dress competition from class I to IX was organized on the special occasion. Two students from secondary section delivered speeches on life history of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. A group song was also presented by the students. The Principal announced the names of the prize winners of the fancy dress competition and congratulated them. She wished a Happy Children’s Day and inspired them to follow the high ideals of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru and to be the good citizens of India. The function concluded with the distribution of refreshment to the students. |

Cluster Level Creative Competition (12-11-08)
Cluster level Creative Competitions (Drawing & Painting, Slogan Writing and Best out of Waste) under Common Minimum Programme have been conducted in our Vidyalaya, under the guidance of our worthy Principal, Dr.(Mrs.) Ambika Kalra. 40 students from KV-1 Halwara, KV-2 Halwara, KV Barnala and KV Baddowal took part in the competitions. Mrs. Satwinder Kaur (Fine Arts teacher, Tagore Public School), Mrs. Shivani Mathur(Ex. Teacher, KV Baddowal) and Mrs Richa Sexena (w/o Major A. Sexena) judged the competitions under the supervision of our Coordinator Mr. K.G. Shukla. Prizes were given to the position holders. The competitions were conducted successfully.

Sports Day (25-10-08)
Annual Sports Day was held on 25th October 2008. the Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ambika Kalra declared the ‘Sports meet Open’. The oath was taken by the sports captain and vice captain of each house. There were different games, sports and athletic event organized. The Primary section students took part in balloon race, frog race and spoon and lemon race. Almost 200 students took part in different events. At the end prizes were distributed to the winners. Refreshment was given to the participant as well as all the students.

Food Safety and Quality Day (15-10-08 & 16-10-08)
There are different activities organized on these days like place card show in prayer, skit on food awareness, painting and slogan writing competition, lecture by Sh. A. S. Bagga on healthy food habit and a lecture by the Principal on personal hygiene on the occasion of Food Safety and Quality Day. |

Rangoli Competition for Primary (04-10-08)
An inter house Rangoli Competition was held for the Primary section. Three groups from each house participated in the competition. Each group had two children. The children used colours, coloured saw dust, leaves and fresh flowers to decorate the Rangoli. The competition was judged by Mrs. Pooja, Mrs. Rinku and Mr. Joginder. The Principal encouraged the students. |

Closing ceremony and prize distribution (29-09-08)
Closing ceremony and prize distribution of Hindi Pakhwara was celebrated in the Vidyalaya. Mr. Pramod Kumar Sharma, Dy. Director Official Language Implementation committee, Home Ministry, Govt. of India was the chief guest of the celebration. Many activities like patriotic songs, dance, hindi speeches and hindi skits were organized. Chief guest and Principal both highlighted on the topic Rashtra Bhasha Hindi and necessity in out day to day life. |

Moral Talk by Acharya Dev Vrat ji (27-09-08)
Under the NAEP activity Acharya Dev Vrat ji (Principal), Gurukul, Kuruksthra addressed the students of Classes VIII to XII. In his speech emphasized the need of healthy food and meditation for physical and mental well being to highlight the point that the healthy mind resides on a healthy body. He also guided the student how to canalize their energy in a positive direction through concentration to achieve their target and excel in academic progress. |
