HOME EXAMINATlON AND PROMOTION RULES
1. The final assessment of the pupil at the end of the Academic session shall be based on the achievement of the student in the Term Tests. Cumulative Test, Session Ending Examination, Regular Home and Class work and Projects/ Practical undertaking by him/ her throughout the year.
2. The percentage of distribution of marks of each Subject will be as under:

3. There will be at least three term tests throughout the year. These tests will be conducted by the Subject-teachers after the completion of each term. In each subject Cumulative Tests will be held in November and the Session Ending Examination in the 2nd and 3rd weeks of March.
4. The Progress Report of the Test/Exam will be handed over to the students after each term. For this, the whole session is divided in three terms. The distribution of marks for each term is shown in the Exam Schedule.
5. Each student would need to pass the continuous and comprehensive evaluation as well as the annual examination separately with at least 1/3 marks. Thus each child should obtain not less than 20 marks out of 60 in each subject in the continuous and comprehensive assessment for class VI onwards and 13 marks out of 40 in annual examinations for being promoted to the next class:

Promotion from class I & II will be decided on the basis of continuous and comprehensive assessment, made every month, of the work done in the class and assignments given to the students. No unit tests, half Yearly examination & session ending examination would be held for them.
For Classes III to V
Assessment would be in grades like (A, B, C, D & E). Subject wise and over all i.e.
A – Excellent
B – Very Good
C – Good
D – Average
E – Needs Guidance
There will be no Re-examination for Unit Tests.
1. In Class I to V, the Session Ending Exam will be replaced by an Informal test. The test need not necessarily be a Written Test. It may be programmed to include Oral Test or other forms of Test to assess the abilities of the pupil.
2. In classes VI to VIII, to pass the examination, a pupil must obtain not less than 33% marks in each academic subject viz, languages, Mathematics, Science & Social Sciences. In Class IX & XI a pupil should obtain not less than 35% marks in each academic subject and as aggregate of 40% for promotion.
3. In classes VI to VIII, a candidate failing in one or two subjects may be granted promotion provided he/she has secured at least 30% marks in each of the subjects he/she has failed in but maintained the aggregate of 35%.
4. In classes IX and XI, a candidate securing an aggregate of 40% but failing in one or two subjects by not more then 5 marks will be eligible to take a supplementary Examination in those subjects. The candidate will be promoted to the next higher class only if he/she secures at least 35% in each of these subjects in the supplementary Examination.
5. If a pupil fails for two years consecutively in the same class he/she will not be allowed to continue for the third year and he/she has to leave the school.
